Grant Guidelines

Please note that the application needs to be completed and submitted in one session (it is not possible to save a partly completed application)

These guidelines operate within the Trust`s stated aims, purposes, and powers to distribute its funds to students in Liverpool.

Applications should satisfy the following general principles, in respect of being requests for:

  • specific expenditure on equipment or instruments to enhance provision over and above that normally and necessarily provided for within a school’s devolved budget
  • specific expenditure for an identified project such as an educational visit or experience
  • specific expenditure in support of a named student for the enhancement of provision.

Applications will not satisfy the general principles, if they are requests for:

  • a general contribution to school funds
  • expenditure on books, equipment and materials normally provided for within the school budget
  • expenditure on services normally and specifically provided for by identified funding
  • expenditure on purposes for which earmarked grants and funds already exist
  • cash grants to individual students for non-specific or general purposes.

Notwithstanding the above, normally:

  • all applications should be supported by the head teacher, or appropriate person
  • all monies should be accounted for within the school’s or appropriate body`s accounting systems
  • all applications will be treated on their merits and will not constitute any general principle or bind the trustees in respect of any future application.

Please note the following:

  • All successful applicants must agree to documenting and reporting back to us on project progress.
  • All successful applicants must complete and submit our end of project monitoring form.
  • All successful applicants must give permission for the contents of the above reports, including any photographs, to be displayed on the LEGCT website and to be shared through our social media channels and any of our publications.
